Beautiful words

After a “short” list of 223 candidate words from 75 languages was selected from an extensive online search, those were poured over by a jury of linguists, writers and cultural experts brought together by Babbel, the language learning platform. They have chosen “Kaitiakitanga” as the most beautiful word from the combined perspective of sound, meaning, cultural depth and current relevance. “Kaitiakitanga” is a Maori word that expresses the inherited duty of stewardship of the natural environment that we live in. That stewardship itself is a triple layer of spiritual duty, duty to humankind and duty to the Nature as a part of it. The essence of this worldview is easy to recognize in all traditional cultures with ancient roots. It is part of the universal wisdom imparted by the great teachers all over the world for millennia.

From the Sahaj angle, it is also clear why that would be. There can only be sustainable enjoyment of human life when the 3 channels are in balance and well looked after. The left side ties us to the deep evolutionary past, to the entire Nature around us that is in fact the cause of our existence. The right is the domain of daily human toil and endeavour, of purposeful action for self and group development. The central channel is the axis of balance and the path of spiritual connection and evolution. This makes for a beautiful tridimensional space of building ourselves as a flourishing human being within an equally developed community. It allows us to gently follow the upward spiral of evolution while we retain balanced and controlled movement along the other axis as well.

When we loose the movement along the vertical axis of the central channel, we are left with a random pattern of actions and feelings happening in a single plane and taking all our energy. This will never allows us to truly enjoy the dynamics of life. Worst of all, we could become trapped in a single dimension where we just move back and forth and usually suffer a lot of consequences of the resulting imbalance: mental / psychological when the movement is all leftward, physical and psychosomatic when we go to the right and back. As an evolved species, we have known this for centuries and millenia. Right now we have reached a critical time for us to re-expand our awareness along the 3 dimensions of our being and to understand how this relates us to the same dimensions in the Whole. And the ultimate driver of that expansion is the pure Self and its light that can finally pervade all our layers once we have self-realization and follow the guidance of our mother energy to clear, heal and balance ourselves.
