Era of the mother

We always take one thing for granted in life to begin with: our mother. We never worry about her intent, or her power to look after all our needs, her power to nurture us and protect us. We do that automatically, it is something built deep within our being and it just works as soon as we are born. And the root reason is that our mother IS our mother. That connection, the fact that we were a part of her, is forever a part of us. And we also somehow know that just as we take for granted that she is the giver, our role is to be the grateful receiver. And what can we give other than reflecting back her selfless, unconditional love?

That unique bond of mother and child is raised to a new dimension once our Kundalini is awakened. She is the ultimate giver indeed and she can take care of us in every way. She is so powerful and yet so gentle. The Kundalini is truly an ideal mother with the added power, unique to her, of giving us a complete upliftment of our awareness and a pure spiritual dimension We do have to cooperate a little bit, though it is mostly by trying not to complicate things for her. The path upwards has to negotiate eventually the delicate strait between our ego and conditionings and we need the will power to not identify with them but be open to discover who we really are once we rise above them.

Shri Mataji has led so many on that discovery path with the power of her pure love and her absolute knowledge of the human spirit and subtle system. She was the embodiment of that pure, divine motherly love that can trigger the ascent of our Kundalini and can also nurture the children to establish themselves in that new awareness. It is that love only that can bear and correct their mistakes and teach them how to use the newly found knowledge of reality. It is the power of that love that comforts and heals when hurts happen. Almost a thousand years ago a famous Italian mystic has described a vision where there will be an era of the Mother. It is hard to escape the feeling that the convergence of Shri Mataji’s coming and the possibility of en-masse Kundalini awakening are a part of that new era.

All we have to do in order to fully take advantage of it is to rediscover a more innocent, child-like state of ourself. One that is willing and ready to let go of imaginary constructs and have them be replaced with a most real and palpable mother’s love, guidance and comforting presence.
